Zynga accusa Facebook per la perdita di utenti

Non è un bel periodo per Zynga, la società di Mark Pincus sembra aver perso la verve di un tempo ed il debutto a Wall Street ha creato non pochi problemi, visto che in pochissimo tempo il valore delle azioni è precipitato vertiginosamente. Colpa del ritardo di alcuni giochi e del mancato successo di altri titoli, nonchè del fallimento commerciale di Draw Something.

La colpa di tutto questo, secondo John Schappert (COO della compagnia) è proprio di Facebook, il sito infatti ha apportato numerose modifiche al layout, operazione che ha reso più confusionario l’accesso ai giochi, l’App Center inoltre non sta funzionando a dovere, nascondendo agli utenti i titoli più famosi a discapito di giochi “minori”.

Tutte queste modifiche avrebbero oscurato i giochi di Zynga e proprio a seguito di questo gli utenti non hanno saputo ritrovare i propri giochi preferiti nel marasma di applicazioni. E’ anche vero che Zynga non si è certo impegnata per svettare sulla concorrenza (ora più agguerrita che mai), gli ultimi titoli non hanno riscosso il successo sperato, ad eccezione di CastleVille, mentre Draw Something, acquisito a fine gennaio, si è rivelato un vero buco nell’acqua ed ha perso quasi tutti i suoi utenti nel giro di poche settimane.

Per il 2013 Mark Pincus e soci punteranno sul mercato dei giochi mobile, altro settore nel quale Zynga ha incontrato diversi problemi, vedere alla voce Dream Heights per qualsiasi chiarimenti. Zynga punterà anche sul mercato delle scommesse virtuali, con il lancio di app e giochi tematici.

Una cosa è certa, Zynga non è più il colosso imbattibile di un tempo, nuovi competitor si sono affacciati all’orizzonte e la società sembra aver perso il suo smalto. Vedremo cosa succederà nei prossimi mesi, il lancio di FarmVille 2 dovrebbe portare un po’ di ossigeno nelle casse della società ed il titolo dovrebbe lentamente risalire in Borsa.

I mean, I know it was my choice to read, however I really believed you would have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could possibly fix if you weren’t too busy searching for attention.

  9. After I initially commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment. There has to be a means you are able to remove me from that service? Appreciate it.
