Zynga stringe un accordo con DreamWorks

Zynga

Zynga è sotto l’occhio del ciclone nelle ultime settimane, l’acquisizione di Draw Something ha creato in realtà un mare di grattacapi alla casa di FarmVille. Facciamo chiarezza, qualche mese fa Zynga ha speso 183 milioni di dollari per acquistare la società che ha sviluppato Draw Something, gioco stile Pictionary cha ha riscosso un successo pazzesco.

Dopo l’acquisizione della società però il gioco ha iniziato a perdere utenti a tutto spiano, forse per una sorta di vendetta degli utenti, o forse il gioco ha perso il suo appeal, comunque sia, Draw Something è sprofondato e non si è più ripreso.

Per cercare di migliorare la situazione Zynga ha appena stretto un accordo commerciale con la DreamWorks, a breve in Draw Something potremo disegnare i personaggi di film come Madagascar, L’Era Glaciale e Shrek, giusto per citarne alcuni. L’accordo prevede, oltre a disegni tematici, anche l’inserimento di ads e banner pubblicitari dedicati ai film DreamWorks di prossima uscita, come Magadascar 3 Ricercati In Europa e L’Era Glaciale 4 Continenti Alla Deriva.

Nel momento in cui scrivo non è chiaro se l’accordo sarà esteso anche ad altri titoli Zynga oppure no, probabilmente però questa partnership prestigiosa certo non basterà a salvare Draw Something dall’oblio. Il gioco sembra destinato a perdere altri utenti e presto probabilmente nessuno si ricorderà di questo titolo. Le statistiche delle ultime settimane non sono molto buone a dir la verità e continuano a calare di giorno in giorno, gettando Zynga nella disperazione più nera.

Draw Something purtroppo non è il primo gioco Zynga a floppare sul mercato, la casa di Mark Pincus sembra aver perso il suo smalto e gli ultimi titoli della società non hanno riscosso il successo sperato. Vedremo se FarmVille 2 (attualmente in fase di test) riuscirà a migliorare la situazione o se Zynga continuerà ad annaspare anche nei prossimi mesi.
