Gemelli Winklevoss investimento SumZero

I gemelli Winklevoss, ovvero coloro che tempo addietro salirono agli onori delle cronache per la battaglia legale avviata e persa contro Mark Zuckerberg accusandolo di aver rubato loro l’idea di Facebook, hanno deciso di tornare alla carica ma, questa volta, con SumZero.

Stando infatti a quanto emerso proprio nel corso delle ultime ore i Winklevoss avrebbero investito nel social network dedicato agli investitori.

SumZero è stata fondato nel 2008 da ex colleghi universitari dei Winklevoss e di Mark Zuckerberg.

Il social network puà contare, allo stato attuale delle cose, su un numero totale di iscritti pari a 7.500 e va a configurarsi come un esclusivo canale sociale mediante cui gli investitori hanno la possibilità di diventarne membri soltanto se sono attivamente impegnato nell’investimento.

A riportare i dettagli dell’operazione è il Wall Street Journal: i due gemelli pare abbiano investito la modica cifra di 1 milione di dollari nel social network.

Per Tyler e Cameron Winklevoss si tratta del primo investimento in assoluto eseguito sfruttando i fondi della Winklevoss Capital, l’azienda fondata dai gemelli proprio lo scorso febbraio.

Quindi, dopo il contenzioso, durato diversi anni, con Mark Zuckerberg e con Facebook ora Tyler e Cameron Winklevoss voglio darsi da fare seguendo quella che, così come dichiarato, sarebbe la loro vera vocazione.

I gemelli sono intenzionati a rimettersi in gioco riprendendo le cose da dove le avevano lasciate, o quasi, e dedicandosi quindi alla crescita di un social network ancora ai suoi albori ma che non è escluso che possa riuscire ad imporsi nel vasto panorama dei servizi online.

Pur essendo SumZero parte del medesimo scenario di Facebook, quello dei social network, le fondamenta su cui si basa risultano del tutto diverse mirando inoltre ad un altro target relativamente al quale il denaro va ad assumere un importanza fondamentale.

I due social network, dunque, non sono destinati ad entrare in competizione ma visti i precedenti non è da escludere il fatto che i rispettivi piani alti non possano avere qualche screzio.
