I messaggi autodistruggenti arriveranno presto su WhatsApp, ma quando saranno disponibili scoprirete che non sono così flessibili come avresti sperato. Sono passati diversi mesi da quando abbiamo appreso che WhatsApp stava pianificando di introdurre messaggi effimeri (ufficialmente noti come messaggi che scompaiono) per i singoli utenti, ma ora la società ha rivelato alcuni dettagli su come funzionerà esattamente la funzione.

Le risorse nascoste nelle versioni beta di WhatsApp suggerivano che gli utenti sarebbero stati in grado di scegliere se i messaggi inviati utilizzando la nuova opzione sarebbero stati eliminati dopo un’ora, un giorno, una settimana o un anno. Ora, tuttavia, WABetaInfo ha individuato una FAQ ufficiale in cui si afferma che sarà possibile eliminare i messaggi solo dopo un periodo di sette giorni, senza opzioni di personalizzazione.

“Puoi inviare messaggi che scompaiono su WhatsApp abilitando la scomparsa dei messaggi”, spiega WhatsApp. “Una volta abilitati, i nuovi messaggi inviati nella chat individuale o di gruppo scompariranno dopo sette giorni. La selezione più recente controlla tutti i messaggi nella chat.

“Questa impostazione non influirà sui messaggi che hai inviato o ricevuto in precedenza nella chat. In una chat individuale, entrambi gli utenti possono attivare o disattivare la scomparsa dei messaggi. In una chat di gruppo, solo gli amministratori del gruppo possono attivare o disattivare la scomparsa dei messaggi.”

Ci sono alcuni altri avvertimenti da tenere a mente. In primo luogo, se una persona non apre WhatsApp per i sette giorni in cui il messaggio è visibile, verrà eliminato dalla chat, ma un’anteprima del suo contenuto potrebbe essere comunque visibile nelle notifiche dell’app di quella persona.

Se rispondi a un messaggio che scompare, il messaggio originale verrà citato e potrebbe non scomparire una volta scaduto. Allo stesso modo, se inoltri un messaggio che scompare a una chat che non ha la funzione abilitata, non verrà eliminato dalla seconda chat. Infine, qualsiasi backup includerà un messaggio che scompare non ancora scaduto. Se il backup viene ripristinato dopo la data di scadenza, quei messaggi verranno eliminati.

Per partecipare al programma beta per Android, visita la pagina Beta di WhatsApp su Google Play e inserisci i tuoi dati. Se hai già installato la versione pubblica di WhatsApp, verrà aggiornata automaticamente alla versione beta entro poche ore.
