Warner Bros, altri cinque film disponibili su Facebook

Inception

Dopo il successo riscosso dal primo film, The Dark Knight, Warner Bros ha deciso di offrire altri cinque film in streaming su Facebook. Da oggi, solo negli Stati Uniti, è possibile noleggiare anche Harry Potter e la camera dei segreti, Harry Potter e la pietra filosofale, Life As We Know It, Yoghi Bear e Inception, il capolavoro di Cristopher Nolan.

Tutti i film costano 300 crediti (oppure 3 dollari) e possono essere visti per 48 ore dal momento dell’acquisto, ovviamente solo in streaming e senza nessuna possibilità di download.

Con Batman The Dark Knight Warner Bros ha aperto un nuovo mercato, quello del noleggio film in streaming su Facebook, il lungometraggio dell’uomo pipistrello deve avere ottenuto buoni risultati commerciali, se è vero che adesso sono disponibili altre cinque pellicole da noleggiare sul social network di Mark Zuckerberg.

L’idea è davvero innovativa, anche altre major di Hollywood hanno dichiarato di essere interessate ad offrire film in streaming su Facebook, tra queste, Sony Pictures potrebbe proporre le prime pellicole entro l’estate ed il primo film disponibile dovrebbe essere, casualmente, The Social Network, pellicola che racconta la nascita di Facebook, vincitore di tre premi Oscar.

Fino ad ora Warner Bros ha messo su Facebook solamente film di primissimo livello, l’esperimento The Dark Knight ha dato i suoi frutti e Facebook potrebbe fare concorrenza ad iTunes Video Store e Netflix (servizio di noleggio online popolarissimo negli USA). In futuro offrire contenuti in streaming a pagamento sui social network potrebbe diventare uno standard, la cosa potrebbe ampliarsi ed includere non solo film, ma anche eventi sportivi e concerti.

Allo stato attuale comunque solamente Warner Bros ha dimostrato di credere in questa funzionalità, le altre case cinematografiche stanno valutando come muoversi e presto potrebbero proporre i primi contenuti a scopo di test, per vedere l’effettivo riscontro del pubblico.
