La corsa alla promozione turistica a partire dall’anno scorso, ha cambiato direzione, e quest’anno ancor di più. Non si scende più di casa per andare in un’agenzia di viaggi, a sfogliare cataloghi, fare domande ed eventualmente fare una prenotazione. Ad oggi, ci pensano i social network.

Oltre ad influenzare notevolmente le nostre scelte, consigliarci, secondo le previsioni, in questo 2011, ci sarà anche un aumento di circa il 13% per le prenotazioni di viaggi on line. Cambia quindi lo stile di vita, ed anche i viaggi, mutano la forma di comunicazione di marketing.

A lanciare questi dati, principalmente è stato il canale di Speed Vacanze, un portale dedicato ai viaggi per single. Le stime mostrano come più del 30% degli iscritti, prenotano i propri viaggi dopo avere navigato un po’ su Facebook.

Le agenzie di viaggio, dal canto loro stanno quindi adattando la loro offerta, sbarcando di diritto sui social network e proponendo diversi pacchetti vacanze on line. Oltre ai franchising, abbiamo anche Facebook che sta facendo pesare tanto la presenza dell’on line sul mondo delle vacanze. Il fatturato mondiale che è stato rilevato rispetto al mondo del web è di circa 3,9 miliardi di dollari solo sui siti maggiori.

Inoltre c’è da specificare che il social networking riesce ad accontentare circa il 75% delle richieste (domande, dubbi, consigli, priorità) nel mondo della vacanza. Abbiamo poi un esempio eclatante che è il social network TravelPeople.it, che solo dalla primavera di quest’anno ha fatto 100.000 nuove iscrizioni oltre i 5.000 operatori turistici ed i ben 10.000 agenti di viaggio.

Le agenzie di viaggio che continuano ad andare avanti sono quelle che si sono adeguate ed hanno spostato il proprio core business on line. La capacità di innovazione è quindi importante anche perché solo 9 milioni su 30 milioni attualmente scegli ancora di recarsi fisicamente in agenzia.
