Un binomio interminabile: Social Network Vs Pirateria

Ancora gatte da pelare per i social network (soprattutto YouTube) e la questione copyright. Il problema secondo i rumors viene sollevato dalle major discografiche e le distribuzioni cinematografi che, che tirando le somme per il 2008, hanno deciso quest’anno di stimare un raffronto a 20 anni fa (di preciso al 1989), verificando un ribasso pari a circa 46.000.000 di euro passando dai 224.000.000 di euro acquisiti nel 1989 ai 178.000.000 di euro del 2008. Puntare il dito contro un colpevole è stato semplice: i social network che permettono la condivisione. Primo tra tutti YouTube, che diffondendo più degli altri network materiale audio / video, viene considerato il caposaldo del ribasso delle vendite soprattutto di DVD contenenti video-clip musicali.
Altri network imputati sono quelli dedicati al audiotone sharing che permettono agli utenti di telefonia di scaricare interi brani audio che grazie alle tecnologie attuali (Bluetooth et similia) sono di semplice scambio gratuito.
A guadagnarci secondo le major sono invece società come Nokia e Sony Ericsson che sempre più stanno orientando i loro prodotti alla full integration con i social network.

Oltre l’audio, attualmente si sta sviluppando una polemica riguardante soprattutto il video sharing in Francia dove vengono scaricati secondo statistica oltre 500.000 films al giorno. A far guerra a questi contenuti è il regista francese Luc Besson che ha dichiarato a Le Monde: “La pirateria non potrebbe esistere senza la complicità oggettiva di buona parte degli attori economici francesi che hanno un interesse nel far perdurare tale sistema. Penso che sia molto importante non mettere tutta la pressione sugli internauti, che sono intelligenti e capiscono che tutto ciò può nuocere al cinema, pur essendo loro stessi i più grandi pirati di internet”.
Il concorso in colpa viene dato a Google e Free, motori di ricerca che “foundano” siti del tipo PrinceMinister e BeeMotion.fr che secondo Besson non dovrebbero permettere la sponsorizzazione di siti definibili “illegali”.

Questa particolare situazione di espansione di ricavi generati dai siti di social network ed in particolare dal video sharing, secondo gli esperti porterà ad un futuro di abbandono dell’audio / video acquistato in negozio o tramite canali di vendita tradizionali fino a ribassare di almeno il 65% le percentuali di vendita.
