Twitter, arriva lo strumento per la geolocalizzazione

In molti definiscono Twitter “scarno” a livello grafico e poco accattivante a livello di tools, mentre, praticamente tutti quelli che lo usano, ammettono l’altissimo grado di socialità del Social Network. Secondo gli utenti che hanno un profilo sia su Facebook che su Twitter, infatti, il secondo sarebbe più piacevole da un punto di vista prettamente social.

Già da un po’ di tempo, nelle alte sfere di Twitter, si cerca di agevolare le interazioni creando nuove applicazioni adatte a incrementare le relazioni: dopo lo strumento “followers in comune”, presto in arrivo sugli account, ancora una volta il SN ci stupisce integrando nuove funzionalità dedicate. Pare infatti che Twitter sia pronto a lanciare il suo maggiore strumento di geolocalizzazione: il Twitter-places.

Questo strumento sarà in grado di etichettare i tweets in base alla loro localizzazione geografica. Tutti gli utenti Twitter potranno taggare (dal pc o dallo smartphone) i loro contributi con dei Twitter places esistenti, o potranno crearne di nuovi. Per ogni place taggato sarà possibile reperire una lista con tutti i tweets lanciati con lo stesso tag (come nella foto sopra), per reperire tutti quelli appartenenti alla stessa area geografica. E come se non bastasse, verranno anche suggeriti insieme al tag luoghi d’interesse, ristoranti e negozi. Twitter-places sarà integrato con Foursquare e Gowalla, nuovi fenomeni social, in cui la protagonista assoluta è proprio la geolocalizzazione.

Nelle prossime settimane, Twitter-places apparirà sulle pagine degli utenti di 65 paesi nel mondo: il primo segnale, sarà l’apparizione del nuovo link “Add your location” per dare il via a tutto il processo. Come percepiranno i fan di Twitter questo nuovo tools a disposizione? In effetti, tutti SN stanno correndo ai ripari, cercando di integrare efficaci strumenti per avvicinare persone che vivono nello stesso posto, renderli partecipi delle loro vite, aggiornare in tempo reale gli spostamenti dell’utente. Sarà davvero utile sapere dove si trova il followers, o piuttosto il Twitter-places non avrà il successo sperato?

  50. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched
