Era il 21 marzo del 2006 e sul già abbastanza affollato panorama del web si affacciava Twitter. Da quel giorno sono passati ben 9 anni ed ora Twitter rappresenta una vera e propria istituzione in fatto di microblogging ed ancor più in fatto di social networking. In questi 9 lunghi anni Twitter è infatti cresciuto trasformandosi in un servizio utilizzato da tutti in ogni dove del globo nonché uno dei principali mezzi di condivisione e di informazione.

Il primo tweet da ricordare è sicuramente il primo tweet in assoluto ovvero quello postato proprio il 21 marzo del 2006 da Jack Dorsey, il co-fondatore del social network.

Il secondo tweet da ricordare è quello che nel 2007 venne pubblicato da Chris Messina e che ha segnato la nascita degli hashtag. Chris Messina propose infatti l’uso degli hashtag per raggruppare i tweet che trattavano lo stesso argomento e per fare in modo che potessero nascere dei gruppi di discussione.

Il terzo tweet da ricordare è senza ombra di dubbio quello inviato nel 2010 dall’astronauta Timothy Creamer a bordo della ISS. Il tweet assume particolare rilevanza perché rappresenta il primo ad essere stato inviato direttamente dallo spazio.
