L’esibizionismo che quotidianamente si manifesta on line soprattutto nel mondo dei social network, sta raggiungendo dei livelli altissimi. Ognuno, per se, per la propria attività o per le proprie passioni, si mette on line spudoratamente per mostrarsi. Di conseguenza sembra quasi che diventi un’esigenza quella di sapere il proprio “valore” di popolarità on line. La frase che molti cercano anche sui motori di ricerca come Google, Yahoo! e Bing è proprio: controllare la propria popolarità on line.

Ebbene sembra che qualcuno abbia trovato una soluzione per i frequentatori assidui di Twitter. A proporre la soluzione è stata l’agenzia di pubbliche relazioni Edelman, che ha proposta una soluzione utilizzabile da tutte le migliaia di utenti di Twitter (per ora) e che forse si sposterà a nuovi social network cambiando nome ed interfaccia. Quello che esaminiamo oggi, basato sulla popolarità degli utenti dell’uccellino è Tweet Level.

Il servizio disponibile all’indirizzo http://tweetlevel.edelman.com, è uno strumento interessante che serve a misurare la propria influenza mediatica sulla piattaforma di microblogging più diffusa in rete. Si tratta di un algoritmo che ricalcola il numero dei tweets pubblicati e soprattutto la qualità (popolarità) degli stessi. Per fare questo, tutti i tweets da 140 caratteri verranno confrontati con il numero e la qualità di quelli degli altri utenti.

Per effettuare queste misurazioni, abbiamo diversi parametri decisi dalla Edelman: in primis, il numero di persone che “ascoltano” i nostri Tweets, in secondo luogo, quante sono le persone che attivamente sono interessate e partecipano alle nostre discussioni. Infine, abbiamo la misurazione effettuata sulla nostra presenza nei profili degli altri intesa come interazione.

Il servizio è stato lanciato da pochissimo, e tra gli utenti al top delle liste di gradimento, ovviamente, ci sono i blogger famosi come il re del gossip Mr Perez Hilton, l’attore hollywoodiano Ashton Kutcher (conosciuto come Aplusk) ed il social blog Mashable.
