Tutorial: Integrare Facebook Connect in un sito sviluppato con CMS (Lesson 1)

Partiremo oggi con un tutorial alquanto interessante per gli sviluppatori. Vediamo come è possibile integrare Facebook Connect al proprio CMS, e nel caso specifico ci occuperemo di WordPress. Il tutorial sarà diviso in più lezioni per permettere a chi è interessato di prendere dimestichezza man mano con le fasi di integrazione.

E’ interessante visualizzare come si può personalizzare a piacere il collegamento per aumentare sempre più la propria rete di amici.

Come passo fondamentale è necessario installare il plug-in 🙂

Collegarsi alla download page di Facebook e scaricare l’ultima versione del plug-in Facebook Connect.
Una volta scaricato il file, occore un-zipparlo e copiare l’intera cartella nel vostro CSM nel percorso /wp-content/plugins/ in alternativa se il CMS è già pubblicato fare l’upload nel medesimo percorso.
Nel menu amministratore di WordPress, una volta effettuato l’accesso andare nella pagina dei Plug-In ed effettuare l’attivazione dello stesso.

Passo successivo è creare l’applicazione che permetterà all’iscritto di fare il “traghetto” tra il vostro sito e Facebook.

Quindi bisogna collegarsi al sito http://www.facebook.com/developers/ (pagina per chi sviluppa) ed effettuare il login con i propri dati di autenticazione a Facebook.
Guardare in alto a destra e cliccare su “Set Up New Application”. Inserire il nome del proprio sito (oppure un nome particolare a propria discrezione che faccia intendere l’utilizzo dell’applicazione) e cliccare su Procedi.

Una volta creata vanno appuntati e salvati i dati dei valori di Secret e quelli delle API Key. Sempre sulla destra necessita cliccare su “Edit Setting” ed inserire nella sezione Callback URL, l’indirizzo del vostro sito internet ma soprattutto impostare come Developer gli admin fondamentali del vostro sito. Sempre in questi settaggi c’è la possibilità di impostare le icone dell’applicazione e quelle del collegamento (tra cui quella di Facebook) e di scegliere la lingua di utilizzo preminente (nel nostro caso Italiano).

Adesso facciamo un po’ di configurazioni più tecniche. Abbandoniamo quindi l’area di sviluppo di Facebook e rechiamoci nel pannello di Amministrazione del nostro sito pilotato da CMS (ricordiamo sempre che stiamo utilizzando a titolo esemplificativo WordPress) per entrare nella pagina delle Impostazioni dove troveremo anche Facebook Connect. Qui torneranno utili i dati appuntati in precedenza (quelli di Secret e di API Key) che vanno inseriti negli appositi settori. Ulteriore personalizzazione possibile in quest’interfaccia di Editing è quella che permette di inviare i commenti a Facebook e di approvarli automaticamente.
Cliccare quindi su Salva per accettare le modifiche.
