Chi dice che Facebook faccia bene o faccia male, si sbaglia di grosso. Questo perché non ci è ancora dato sapere di dati precisi a riguardo. Certo è che gli studi sui social network vanno avanti, ed oggi parliamo proprio di un interessante studio che ha a che fare nel rapporto tra questi nuovi strumenti sociali ed il rendimento scolastico sugli individui. Secondo dati analizzati e proveniente da fonti accademiche, infatti, Facebook e Twitter in primis, sarebbero due strumenti utilizzati con enorme beneficio per gli studenti, soprattutto sotto l’aspetto didattico.

Questo perché, secondo il 75% degli studenti intervistati, sarebbero pronti anche ad abbandonare le classi per avere lezioni e relazioni attraverso il social network Facebook.
Il problema risulta invece nel momento in cui studiamo e ci facciamo compagnia con Facebook. In questo caso, risulterebbe che le prestazioni calano del ben 20% nella media. Facebook inoltre, provvederebbe a fare perdere anche tantissimo tempo dal punto di vista lavorativo.

L’intervista basata sugli studenti che fanno un lavoro part time, ha evidenziato che oltre l’80% di questi, dalle 16 ore di lavoro settimanale ne fanno solo 11 se iscritti a Facebook, mentre continuano ad incassare per tutte e 16 ore coloro che non hanno un account Facebook.
Oltre a questo, ci sono da considerare dei casi particolari, che io oserei chiamare patologici. Stiamo parlando degli effetti collaterali come solitudine e depressione, che derivano molto spesso dal fatto di non essere apprezzatissimi nei propri post o nei propri status.

Di una sindrome analoga sono colpiti coloro che sono dipendenti da Facebook e che hanno questa specie di “mania” di aggiornare Facebook in ogni istante anche per le cose più stupide. Questi soggetti sono molto pratici con il social network ed hanno una tendenza ad aumentare la propria autostima, cosa riconosciuta scientificamente, e dimostrata col fatto che chi visita più volte il proprio profilo può diventare anche megalomane.
