Secondo un recente rapporto del Censis, l’uso continuo dei social networks allontenerebbe i ragazzi dalla lettura. Periodicamente vengono lanciati accorati appelli perchè in Italia non si legge abbastanza e di conseguenza si vendono sempre meno libri. E’ una preoccupazione giustificata, soprattutto quando proviene dagli addetti ai lavori che adesso però hanno un nuovo nemico, cioè Facebook, Twitter, e tutti quegli strumenti di comunicazione e chat che costringerebbero i più giovani a passare ore davanti a un PC, togliendo così il tempo alla lettura.

La top 5 delle chat e social networks più utilizzati nel nostro paese è capitanata da Facebook (61,6%) seguito da YouTube (60,9%), poi Messenger (50,5%), Skype (37,6%) e fanalino di coda MySpace con appena il 31,8% di utenti attivi. Questi strumenti sono amatissimi soprattutto dai più giovani, che pur di rimanere connessi, sacrificherebbero altre attività “collaterali”, prima di tutte la lettura.

Tra i libri, naturalmente, i primi a farne le spese sono soprattutto i classici della letteratura. Se i romanzi più recenti, magari quelli rivolti proprio ad un pubblico di giovanissimi come ad esempio Amore 14 di Federico Moccia, possono trarre vantaggio dal “passaparola” su Facebook, lo stesso non si può dire per i classici. Diceva Italo Calvino che «non si leggono i classici per dovere o per rispetto, ma solo per amore», tuttavia questi libri sono visti sempre di più come “contenitori di cose serie”, e diventano ogni giorno meno attraenti agli occhi dei ragazzi, più interessati alle letture di intrattenimento, o ai film tratti da romanzi famosi. Eppure potenzialmente si può fare tutto, leggere, incontrare gli amici, e naturalmente taggarsi su Facebook.

Nevertheless think about if you added some great pictures or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
