In questo libro, la ricercatrice, spiega come le nuove tecnologie non sono affatto un aiuto per avvicinare gli uomini, ma la stessa distanza fisica presente tra gli stessi, crea solo un’illusione di relazione che in realtà rimane solitudine.
Primo social network sotto accusa, sarebbe proprio Facebook, dove le persone che aggiornano lo status, lo fanno principalmente perchè si sentono sole e quindi sentono un bisogno forte di “regalare” ad un computer i propri sentimenti.
