Più che di vendita di Skype, sarebbe più giusto parlare di svendita di Skype, perchè eBay, la società di aste online che nel 2005 aveva acquistato il colosso Voip per 2.6 miliardi di dollari, alla fine ha ceduto Skype per appena 1.9 miliardi al gruppo di investitori guidato da Marc Adreessen.

Per Skype, che in passato che si era dimostrata incompatibile con il sistema di e-commerce di eBay, si tratta di “una nuova indipendenza” , come dichiarato dall’amministratore delegato Josh Silverman.

Skype adesso verrà quotata in borsa, dove la società al momento viene valutata 2.7 miliardi di dollari.
