Skype 5.6 arriva su Mac

Skype ha rilasciato la versione 5.6 del suo celebre omonimo programma client VoIP dedicato a messaggistica istantanea e videochiamate per sistemi Mac. L’aggiornamento è disponibile per il download sul sito ufficiale e include, oltre a una serie di miglioramenti di sorta tipici di questi update con la risoluzione di alcuni piccoli bug, anche alcune novità inedite funzionali molto richieste dagli utenti.

Prima di tutto, c’è da segnalare il supporto full screen per il sistema operativo OS X Lion, la modalità schermo intero che certamente diviene utile specialmente in fase di video-conversazione.

Tra le altre novità, ecco la possibilità di poter cancellare conversazioni già effettuate, la possibilità di disabilitare il setup automatico del microfono atto a ridurre il rumore di fondo in fase di chiamata e miglioramenti vari all’interfaccia utente soprattutto per quanto riguarda la gestione delle chiamate di gruppo.

Skype 5.6 per Mac comprende inoltre un sistema inedito pensato affinché il programma si aggiorni automaticamente quando gli sviluppatori rilasceranno nuovi update e correzioni di bug minori, così da non costringere l’utente a dover operare manualmente.

Per quanto riguarda le magagne corrette, i messaggi di chat che non vengono visualizzati dopo la cancellazione o la chiusura di una conversazione, qualche problema audio con le cuffie USB durante i gruppi di chiamata, la barra di strumenti di chiamata che non viene visualizzata al termine della stessa e alcune difetti nella selezione dei contatti all’interno dell’apposita lista.

L’update ha un “peso” di circa ed è scaricabile anche direttamente dall’applicazione Skype scegliendo dal menu “Aiuto” e “Controlla aggiornamenti”. Il software dovrebbe rivelare automaticamente il nuovo upgrade e permettervi di installarlo. I requisiti minimi richiesti per installare Skype su Mac sono abbastanza chiari: un Mac con CPU da 1 GHz, Mac OS X Leopard o successivo, 100 MB di spazio libero su disco fisso e, chiaramente, una connessione a internet.
