Microsoft compra SkypeDopo il periodo di sperimentazione, la versione 5.5 del celebre servizio di client VoIP Skype è finalmente pronta ed è stata pubblicata sulla pagina ufficiale del sito internet ad esso dedicato.

Come hanno annunciato gli stessi sviluppatori sul proprio blog corporate, la nuova edizione è disponibile in maniera definitiva per il download, e si caratterizzerà, come ben si sa da qualche tempo, per una forte integrazione con il celebre social network Facebook, che rende i servizi di entrambi praticamente fusi in una cosa sola.

Infatti, la nuova versione di Skype offre la possibilità di poter utilizzare il proprio account Facebook direttamente dal client VoIP, così da poter accedere direttamente a tutti i servizi offerti dal social network più famoso del mondo. La canonica finestra di Skype viene invero arricchita da una finestra che permette di visualizzare in tempo reale tutte le notizie provenienti dalla bacheca dei propri amici, con la possibilità di poterle commentare o cliccare sull’ormai famoso pulsante “mi piace” senza dover necessariamente aprire il browser.

Skype 5.5 permetterà peraltro di chattare con i propri contatti Facebook direttamente dalla “sua” finestra di messaggistica istantanea, rappresentando di fatto la perfetta fusione di due dei servizi di piattaforme sociali più utilizzati e conosciuti al mondo.

L’edizione beta ha peraltro permesso agli sviluppatori di migliorare alcune delle cose che non andavano nella versione preliminare, a cominciare da alcune aree dell’interfaccia grafica volte a semplificarne l’utilizzo per i meno esperti, l’ottimizzazione delle chiamate video ed una migliore versione per le chiamate vocali. Le emoticon di default sono state incrementate inoltre con alcune novità, complete di animazioni e smile inedite.

Per scaricare Skype 5.5 in maniera totalmente gratuita basta recarsi alla pagina ufficiale di download ospitata dal sito internet  del client VoIP. Chiaramente, per abilitare l’integrazione con Facebook, sarà necessario inserire i dati di accesso del proprio account, all’interno dell’apposita finestra che si aprirà al primo avvio del “nuovo” Skype.
