Il primo social network nella Classifica di gradimento degli internauti per Novembre 2008 è risultato Facebook, ma dobbiamo tener conto che ci sono anche altri SN che potrebbero fare al nostro caso anche più di Facebook, passeremo in rassegna i maggiori che attualmente sono in circolazione per dare la possibilità a chi non conosce tutte le opportunità offerte dalle reti sociali di entrare in contatto con le stesse.

MySpace: il primo a nascere nel 1998 da Chris DeWolfe.
Offre agli internauti: blog, profili personali, gruppi, foto, musica e video.
Diventa super frequentato dal 2004, quando nasce MySpace Music sezione che da la possibilità alle piccole band (inizialmente solo americane) di pubblicizzarsi e farsi conoscere condividendo la propria passione con il resto del Mondo.

Friendster: creato nel 2002 da Jonathan Abrams.
Offre agli internauti: profili personali, foto e video.
Fino al 2004 è l’unico leader indiscusso.

Facebook: la rivoluzione. Nasce nel 2004 da alcuni studenti di Harvard (Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz e Chris Hughes).
Offre agli internauti: blog, profili personali, gruppi, foto, musica e video.
Boom del momento, anche in Italia, dove sta coinvolgendo politica, scuola e “fansismo”

Badoo: nasce nel 2006 a Londra da giovani studenti multilingue.
Offre agli internauti: profili, possibilità di aggiungere reportage, foto e video.
Geograficamente il più comprensibile per una ricerca di amicizia. La fonte di guadagno del sito è il servizio “Rise Up” (Scala la vetta) con il quale è possibile aumentare la propria visibilità sul SN.

Netlog: Nasce in Belgio nel Settembre 2006.
Offre agli internauti: blog, foto e video. Possibilità di modificare lo skin.
Simpatico graficamente grazie al suo “cruscotto” che permette la modifica di tutte le impostazioni.
Importante per quando si è off-line, la possibilità di richiedere che vengano inviate delle mail per essere aggiornati sugli ultimi avvenimenti.

Twitter:
Offre agli internauti: possibilità di lasciare un messaggio di 140 caratteri tramite web, messenger o sms.
Esiste la possiblità di associarsi come “Followers” e leggere solo i messaggi degli amici o la Public Timeline dove leggere i messaggi di tutto il mondo.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
