Esaminiamo People di gMail

Oggi parliamo di una nuova caratteristica lanciata dal team di Google che si va ad interfacciare come caratteristica del client di posta elettronica gMail, con delle funzionalità very social.

Parliamo di People Widget, il nome di questo prodotto non è nuovo, infatti è da un po’ che già circolava voce nell’ambiente, legato ai profili degli utenti di gMail. E proprio da qualche giorno, la nostra posta elettronica, all’apertura, ci apre sulla destra una maschera dove possiamo leggere le informazioni sul contatto, oltre che i messaggi precedenti legati allo stesso contatto, oltre che ancora i suoi aggiornamenti post su stati d’animo e fotografie. Da qui si può condividere tutto attraverso il social network interno su gMail.

Ovviamente il Widget People, va anche ad accorpare altre funzionalità già note di gMail come la chat e la condivisione dei documenti.
Nel team di Google c’è molta felicità per il lancio di questo widget, soprattutto dopo che le precedenti esperienze di legare il colosso del search engine al mondo dei social network, sono andate vanificate.

Secondo la dirigenza, si tratterebbe infatti di una funzionalità avanzata nel mondo di comunicare che sarebbe legato anche al mondo del business, cosa che molti social network stanno adottando negli ultimi periodi. Da un’analisi esterna, si può definire People Widget, come uno dei passi fondamentali per il futuro nel mondo dei social network di Google, questo però, sarà legato principalmente al fatto che l’utenza di gMail, sia pronta ad “accollarsi” l’utilizzo dello stesso per renderlo funzionale, ma soprattutto condiviso dai più.

Dopo il fallimento di Google Wave ed il mancato utilizzo (o la cilecca) di Buzz, quindi, Google ci riprova  andandoci con i piedi di piombo. In pratica, l’accesso al mondo del social network è inferiore come volume di necessità e di conseguenza si cercherà di prendere il sopravvento pian piano a differenza di altre precedenti esperienze.
