Se si mettono insieme Paul Buchheit e social network, cosa uscira mai fuori? Il primo, lo sviluppatore di servizi ormai diffusi capillarmente quali gMail e Google Adsense, con idee innovative e solitamente di successo, il secondo, un fenomeno coinvolgente per la popolazione del Web 2.0 che ad oggi è registrata sicuramente a più di un servizio di social networking. E proprio per quest’ultimo motivo che Paul ha pensato che la multipla gestione dei contenuti, fosse una dispersione inutile di tanti contenuti ed aggiornamenti che fanno, in continuazione, perdere ai propri amici il senso logico e soprattutto li costringono a cambiare pagine e logarsi di continuo. Per questo motivo si usa Friend Feed.
Spesso si trova a seguire contemporaneamente Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, il blog personale, un sito personale, Badoo e tanti altri link dei propri contatti, ma secondo Buchheit c’è la possibilità di ridurre il tecno stress e trovare quindi una soluzione a questo cambio continuo di piattaforme. E poi dal punto di vista degli utilizzatori, anche la possibilità di poter fare un solo aggiornamento (non perdendo notevole tempo per ripetere le stesse cose) su un solo social network e poterlo condividere con tutti, senza rifarlo in tante pagine diverse. Paul Buchheit da conoscitore approfondito del Web ha pensato in FriendFeed questa struttura configurabile che grazie alla centralizzazione in un’unica pagina, permette la gestione simultanea di tutti gli account sui social network a partire dalle note, ai link fino ai video, caricandolo una volta sola e decidendo a quale dei nostri network inviarlo. I nostri contatti interessati potranno essere aggiornati grazie ai feed ed ai push update.
E’ stato definito dallo stesso “pensatore” un aggregatore evoluto di contenuti perchè aggiornabile anche via e-mail e via cellulare.
Secondo le sue aspettative, il progetto potrebbe divenire un nuovo gMail e quindi conquistare subito il mercato, anche se come noto, gli utenti sono abitudinari e non accettano le innovazioni subito e con entusiasmo.
