Sesso? No grazie è meglio Facebook

Tutti amano Facebook e lo sappiamo. Ma chi immaginava che il social network blu fosse anche meglio del sesso? Eppure le cose stanno così, prendiamolo come un segno dei tempi e rassegnamoci.

Oggi il bisogno di passare almeno cinque minuti al giorno su Facebook, Twitter, o altri social media è diventato talmente forte da eguagliare o addirittura superare il bisogno di mangiare, fumare o di fare l’amore. Ce lo rivela un recente studio dell’Università di Chicago, dove l’impulso di accedere a Facebook è stato messo a confronto con altri impulsi, per così dire, “primari” come mangiare, bere, dormire, e fare sesso.

Sul piatto della bilancia sono finite anche tentazioni meno necessarie, ma comunque irresistibili, come fumare. E nonostante tutto, la “voglia di Facebook” si è dimostrata più forte, e ha superato di gran lunga sia il vizio del fumo, sia il desiderio di fare l’amore.

I ricercatori hanno preso in esame soggetti volontari di età compresa tra i 18 e gli 85 anni per monitorarne i desideri e bisogni, chiedendo loro di dare un voto a ognuno di questi impulsi, su una scala che andava da “forte” a “irresistibile”. Ne è venuto fuori che per la maggior parte dei soggetti resistere alla tentazione di andare su Facebook, Twitter e altri social network era più difficile che resistere alle avances di una bella donna o di un affascinante sconosciuto.

Secondo Wilhem Hofmann, autore dello studio, questo bisogno di Facebook è così forte proprio perché questo social è oramai alla portata di tutti, e accessibile da qualsiasi dispositivo. Insomma si può paragonare Facebook a una fidanzata sempre pronta e disponibile in ogni situazione, ovunque ci troviamo. Facebook perciò offre emozioni a buon mercato, a cui è difficile, se non impossibile, dire di no.
