Donne e social network

Non si impressionino gli utenti che fino ad oggi hanno parlato al maschile dei social network. Non parliamo di una modifica alla grammatica che vuole parlare “della social network”, ma semplicemente dei risultati di un sondaggio effettuato negli Stati Uniti, che vede da un esame effettuato su 19 social network, la grande maggioranza di presenza femminile.

Si parla di una maggioranza rosa molto forte, che riesce a superare anche l’84% degli iscritti totali. La società che ha condotto la ricerca è la Pyngdom, che si è basata sui 19 big del social networking a partire proprio da Facebook, Twitter e MySpace, passando per Digg, Slashdot, YouTube, LinkedIn e Reddit.

I maschi dal proprio canto sono al massimo, sui social network più dedicati ad eventi “maschili” il 40% circa del totale. Unico esempio di maggioranza “maschilista” è quello di SlashDot che vede invece una presenza di uomini all’80%. Inoltre sono stati resi noti i massimi esponenti di pubblico femminile che sono Facebook, Bebo, Classmates e Xanga.

La ricerca ovviamente ha tenuto conto anche di altri parametri oltre a questo che confronta uomini e donne. La Global Language Monitor, azienda texana che fa monitoraggio dell’utilizzo delle lingue nel mondo, ha visto un aumento di popolarità dei social network anche nei modi comuni di parlare. Sembra infatti che nel mondo, la parola “Twitter” abbia superato di gran lunga i termini “Obama”, “H1N1” e “Twilight”, che sono parole molto in voga nel 2009 che arrivano dalla televisione e dal cinema.

Altre frasi sono state catalogate dalla GLM come “entrate nel linguaggio comune”. A partire da “Re del Pop”, modo di dire nascente da quando è morto Michael Jackson, sono entrate anche altre frasi come “Yes we can” ed “influenza A”.

Secondo gli studiosi, la parola Twitter, rimarrà comunque un qualcosa di crescente nel globo che oltre a significare un nome di social network, sarà presa in considerazione per parlare di comunicazioni brevi…di circa 140 caratteri.

  35. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

  39. obviously like your web site but you have to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to tell the truth on the other hand I will certainly come again again.
