Sembra il titolo di un film, o meglio un detto antico ed in comune con questi ultimi, ha proprio la sua veridicità. La fedeltà degli utenti alla propria password può essere una potente arma che ci si può rivoltare contro in casi di smarrimento o di divulgazione. Molti sono gli utenti “cattivi”, che cercano dalle pagine dei social network di carpire segreti e password di utilizzatori inconsapevoli di servizi on line, tramite una sola password, identica per tutti i servizi.

 
Una recente ricerca vuole che ci siano una serie di utenti di siti di social networking come Facebook che sono stati battezzati dalla stampa di settore “The Spy“, che facendo ricerche incrociate (e soprattutto molti tentativi), annotano nomi utente, date di nascita ed indirizzi e-mail per cercare di invadere (per motivi non proprio legali) la privacy altrui.

 

Questi individui, una volta entrati in possesso semplicemente del vostro indirizzo e-mail e della vostra password (conoscendo le date di nascita su Facebook non è poi così difficile data la grande maggioranza di utenti che usa questa combinazione) cominciano a trovare modi per guadagnarci soldi. Come? Semplice, dalla vostra e-mail solitamente si riesce a risalire ai dati del conto corrente bancario se utilizzate servizi di home banking, o ancora si può accedere ai servizi a cui ci siamo registrati e diventare “cattivi” in qualsiasi momento, o ancora prelevare altri dati personali come il nostro indirizzo oppure il numero di telefono cellulare, che noi per completezza abbiamo inserito nella firma della nostra posta elettronica.

 
Il consiglio degli esperti è sicuramente quello di utilizzare password diverse per ogni servizio a cui ci si iscrive e di annotarli con la vecchia e cara penna su un taccuino, in modo tale da avere memoria cartacea di quel che dobbiamo fare. Altro consiglio è quello di non permettere mai la visualizzazione di troppe informazioni che possano far risalire ad una password nella stessa pagina web. Facebook è l’esempio comune di una pagina dove nella stessa, troviamo sia l’indirizzo e-mail del contatto, sia la data di nascita che molto spesso coincide con la password della nostra posta elettronica, o peggio dell’account di Facebook.

  13. When I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I recieve four emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!

  27. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
