Last.fm: ferma l’era del gratis

Pian piano sembra che l’accostamento tra Internet e Gratis stia volgendo al termine. Sempre più sono i servizi offerti che dividono le registrazioni base da quelle premium a pagamento ed i servizi che muoiono perchè vogliono continuare la propria filosofia del gratis. Ebbene la novità riguarda la Web Radio Last.fm. In effetti, la diffusione telematica della stazione radiofonica non è più gratis. L’abbonamento avrà un costo mensile di tre euro al mese per l’ascolto, mentre è stato scelto di rimanere gratis l’area della condivisione di informazioni e del social network.
Secondo quanto detto da esponenti proprietari della Web Radio, la distribuzione della musica on-line è molto costosa ed i fondi recuperati dalla pubblicità sono sempre pochi al punto di non riuscire nemmeno a coprire le spese.
Questa situazione vige solo in Italia per il momento, dato che il servizio offerto da Last.fm rimarrà gratuito negli Stati Uniti, in Germania e nel Regno Unito; questo perchè gli utenti e gli sponsor sono notevolmente più numerosi che in Italia.
Ovviamente il brutale cambiamento di rotta potrebbe non aver avuto molto gradimento tra gli utenti, allora è stato previsto l’omaggio di 30 tracce gratuite ai nuovi membri iscritti per poter passare pian piano all’abbonamento mensile.
La paura, secondo gli esperti, dei servizi internet a pagamento, nasce dal presupposto che la nostra società si sta lentamente abituando ad essere in continuo rapporto con i siti di social networking e di informazione e diffusione on-line. Il passaggio graduale ad una diffusione di serviz a pagamento, potrebbe essere una soluzione ad una catastrofe globale. Quindi secondo i maggiori esperti del marketing, un “colpo secco” alla concettualità di utilizzo del Web, potrebbe significare la fine del Web consumer, rimanendo gli spiragli solo per l’Intenet in versione business.

Che arriveremo un giorno a dover pagare pure le e-mail? Gli utenti sperano che ciò non avvenga.
