La vera storia di Facebook: ragazze, foto, sesso e hacking

Chi l’avrebbe mai detto? Fino ad ora eravamo abituati alla solita storia: Facebook è nato grazie al desiderio di Mark Zuckerberg di tenersi in contatto con i suoi ex compagni di scuola ed ora invece ha connesso tutto il mondo. Non ci siamo mai chiesti se fosse questa la verità, non abbiamo mai indagato sulla figura di Mark e abbiamo dato credito a tutto quello che dicevano i mass-media di lui. Ora un libro smentisce tutte le voci dette fin’ora e svela il reale passato del social network con un libro: “The Accidental Billionaires”, scritto da Ben Mezrich. Nome alquanto strano per chi non lo conosce, ma è noto in America per le sue strane inchieste, come quest’ultima che vede come protagonosta Zuckerberg. Ecco la sua versione.

Altro che amicizie. Secondo lo scrittore:

Zuckerberg ed Eduardo Saverin, il suo amico, non erano abbastanza cool per stanare le ragazze più carine del campus nella vita reale ma nel mondo virtuale, beh, lì non c’era nulla in cui non potessero riuscire. Così cominciarono a coltivare l’idea di un sito che raccogliesse tutte le ragazze di Harvard. Usando le doti di hacker, Mark si infiltrò nel sistema dell’università e scaricò le foto di ammissione di tutte le ragazze.

Eduardo lo aiutò a costruire un programma che tenesse in ordine le foto rubate: lo chiamarono FaceSmash, e non faceva altro che far comparire due foto di ragazze sullo schermo. Tu cliccavi su una delle immagini, e un complesso algoritmo cominciava a ordinarle in una classifica di attitudine sexy. Nel giro di due ore l’80 per cento della popolazione maschile della scuola aveva votato, mandando in tilt il sistema informatico di Harvard.

E ancora, Zuckerberg dovrebbe essere un noto hacker già preso di mira dalle più importanti autorità statunitensi come l’FBI. Notizie dell’altromondo che non vengono però smentite dal diretto interessato: il fondatore di Facebook. Il perchè non parla e non interviene è molto strano. Sarà forse che è la verità?
