Servono alcune indicazioni per coloro che brancolano nel buio a proposito delle anomalie su WhatsApp online, ma più in generale sulla questione privacy. Se sei un utente di WhatsApp, hai molta compagnia. L’app ha 2 miliardi di partecipanti attivi al mese che la usano per comunicare con amici e familiari qui e all’estero. Per la protezione della privacy, la piattaforma offre la crittografia end-to-end, il che significa che nessuno può leggere il contenuto di un messaggio oltre a te e alla persona che lo riceve.

Cosa sta cambiando sulla privacy WhatsApp e sullo status online

In questo modo, quando usi l’app, potresti condividere più informazioni di quanto pensi con i tuoi contatti, chiunque altro abbia il tuo numero di telefono e la società madre Meta , che possiede anche Facebook e Instagram. E se scegli di archiviare i tuoi dati WhatsApp su iCloud o Google Drive, i tuoi messaggi non verranno crittografati lì a meno che non abiliti i backup crittografati end-to-end. Se non ti piace il suono di tutto ciò, potresti considerare di passare a Signal, un’app di messaggistica con crittografia end-to-end e protezioni della privacy molto più forti. Ma puoi proteggere alcune delle tue attività su WhatsApp dall’azienda e da altri utenti limitando l’accesso ai dati sulla posizione, alle informazioni su quando sei online e hai letto messaggi e chat di gruppo che ti includono senza il tuo consenso.

Su un iPhone: vai su WhatsApp > Impostazioni > Account > Privacy > Ultimo accesso. Una volta lì, puoi scegliere di rendere disponibili le informazioni a “Tutti”, “I miei contatti” o “Nessuno”.

Su un telefono Android: vai su WhatsApp > Menu (i tre punti nell’angolo in alto a destra) > Impostazioni > Account > Privacy > Ultimo accesso. Quindi, scegli “Tutti”, “I miei contatti” o “Nessuno”.
