La Nokia acquista Dopplr

Ancora Nokia fa parlare di se, come una casa all’avanguardia che negli ultimi periodi, con tutta la crisi mondiale che si sposta anche sul mercato della tecnologia, continua a fare investimenti per un futuro radioso. L’ultimo passo fatto dal gigante finlandese della telefonia, è quello dell’acquisto di un social network completamente dedicato al turismo ed ai viaggiatori.

Si chiama Dopplr ed è raggiungibile all’indirizzo www.dopplr.com. In realtà in italiano dovrebbe leggersi Doppler, ma in giro, negli ambienti redazionali si è ormai diffusa la lettura maccheronica Dopplr. Questa rete sociale è dedicata completamente agli appassionati di viaggi ed ha lo scopo di aggiungersi alla già enorme offerta di servizi che il gigante della telefonia propone on line per i suoi clienti.

Dopplr rientra per Nokia, in un sistema molto più grande dal punto di vista strategico, che sarebbe quello che va a cadere sui dispositivi mobili con possibilità di geolocalizzazione basato su piattaforma Web 2.0.

Ma cos’è Dopplr dalla sua nascita prima dell’acquisto da parte di Nokia? Dopplr è un social network che ha come target di riferimento i viaggiatori e gli amanti in genere del turismo, nel quale si possono scambiare racconti, consigli ed esperienze sui viaggi e sugli ambienti visitati. Seppur non ha nessun nesso con il mondo della telefonia, Nokia vuole puntare su questo servizio di social networking per incrementare i contenuti dei propri servizi.

Fatto sta, che la comunicazione ufficiale sull’acquisizione, teneva a precisare bene che Dopplr continuerà ad essere una piattaforma gestita in un comparto diverso, e quindi non sarà integrata, trasferita o trasformata dalla sua piattaforma proprietaria OVI.
Il costo che è stato iportizzato per questa operazione finanziaria on line è di circa 10 – 15 milioni di euro. Non ci sono state smentite, quindi…chi tace acconsente.
