IMVU, la chat 3D della new generation

Confermando tutte le aspettative dell’anno, durante le feste, chat e social network hanno fatto boom di accessi e di presenze. A distanza di dieci anni dalla nascita sproporzionata di tanti gruppi di persone che si univano per “chattare”, ad oggi con il social network sembrava che il tutto si fosse trasformato in una grande chat comune.

Ma oltre agli amanti della chat testuale e del social network, ci sono un’altra serie di utenti che amano la grafica e soprattutto la virtual life in 3D. Sono gli utenti della “seconda vita” nati con uno dei primi ambienti virtuali che è Second Life.

Oggi parliamo però di un’altra ambientazione 3D che sta mettendo ora le radici. Si chiama IMVU e per gli utenti italiani sta diventando una mania.
In primis occorre collegarsi al sito di riferimento www.imvu.com e scaricare l’applicativo. Poi con la registrazione gratuita e l’immissione della propria e-mail, si può scegliere il proprio avatar. Purtroppo la differenza con chi è abituato a “vivere” in Second Life sembra essere abissale, proprio perchè la personalizzazione dell’avatar è molto misera rispetto al suo papà. Si può scegliere altezza, colore dei capelli e pochi capi d’abbigliamento, cosa che su Second Life è ormai superata data la personalizzazione di altissimo impatto.
Anche qui c’è però la possibilità di usare una moneta virtuale convertibile in reale che permette spese “folli” in arredamento ed abbigliamento. Inoltre è possibile fare realmente amicizie ed utilizzare la chat in maniera non proprio convenzionale (ha una serie di contenuti vietati ai minori).

Quello che ha generato critiche dalla stampa su questa nuova chat è lo slogan, che istica a scappare dalla vita reale: Escape to IMVU; letteralmente Scappa su IMVU. Le critiche ovviamente sono giunte tutte da teologi oppure da politici, ma quello che probabilmente non è ancora arrivato come messaggio è che molte persone realmente non hanno compreso il senso di queste attività che devono avere esclusivamente uno scopo videoludico.
