Il Safer Internet Day mette le basi alla soluzione per la tutela on-line

Il Safer Internet Day, è stato un giorno importante per la creazione di una collaborazione tra i vari capisaldi del Web nell’intento di creare una Rete più sicura.

L’Unione Europea, come Ente preposto per la mediazione dell’accordo, ha dato annuncio del successo dell’operazione fa dichiarando che: “17 importanti società del web (…) hanno firmato per la prima volta un accordo europeo volto a migliorare la sicurezza dei minorenni che utilizzano siti di socializzazione in rete. Con 41,7 milioni di utenti regolari in Europa, i siti di socializzazione in rete sono un fenomeno sociale ed economico emergente, che sta cambiando il modo in cui interagiamo in rete. L’uso di reti sociali è cresciuto lo scorso anno del 35% in Europa ed entro il 2012 il numero degli utenti dovrebbe più che raddoppiare salendo a 107,4 milioni. Per assicurare la continua crescita delle reti sociali, i giovani utenti devono sentirsi sicuri quando ampliano le loro reti o condividono informazioni personali. L’accordo firmato oggi a Lussemburgo in occasione della giornata “Safer Internet” organizzata dalla Commissione europea consentirà ai teenager di far fronte ai rischi potenziali cui sono esposti online, come il bullismo online o la divulgazione di informazioni personali“.

Quest’accordo nasce soprattutto per tutelare i naviganti dal divenire vittime di cyber-bullismo a partire dai minori. “L’obiettivo è quello di ottenere “approntando un tasto “segnalazione di abusi” di facile uso e accessibile, che consenta agli utenti di segnalare con un click contatti o comportamenti inappropriati di altri utenti; assicurando che i profili completi online e gli elenchi dei contatti di utenti di siti Internet registrati come minorenni siano automaticamente classificati come “privati”, in modo tale che i malintenzionati abbiano maggiori difficoltà ad entrare in contatto con i giovani; garantendo che sia impossibile compiere ricerche in merito ai profili privati di utenti minorenni (su siti Internet o tramite motori di ricerca); garantendo che le opzioni di tutela della privacy siano evidenti e accessibili in ogni momento, cosicché gli utenti possano capire facilmente se solo i loro amici possano vedere quanto da loro messo online o se possa accedervi chiunque; impedendo di utilizzare i loro servizi ad utenti che non abbiano l’età minima richiesta: se un sito di socializzazione in rete è destinato ad adolescenti con più di 13 anni, dovrebbe essere difficile registrarsi per chi ha meno di quell’età“.
Viviane Reding, Commissaria Europea per la società dell’Informazione ed i Media, ha così presentato l’operazione: “La Commissione accoglie con favore questo primo accordo europeo sulla socializzazione in rete. Si tratta di un progresso importante per garantire la sicurezza dei nostri figli che si collegano ai siti di socializzazione in rete (…) La socializzazione in rete ha un enorme potenziale di sviluppo in Europa e può contribuire a rafforzare la nostra economia e a rendere la nostra società più interattiva – purché vi siano gli strumenti idonei a garantire che bambini e adolescenti possano fidarsi ed essere sicuri quando si fanno nuovi “amici” e condividono dati personali online. Intendo vigilare attentamente sull’attuazione dell’accordo odierno e la Commissione si occuperà nuovamente di questa questione tra un anno“.

I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net.
