Ormai sono tantissimi i disastri ambientali, che non si riesce più a contarli sulle dita delle mani, ed uno di questi disastri è anche quello delle estinzioni di specie animali. Gli obiettivi che si pongono i social network hanno molto di ambientalista, proprio perchè popolati da una serie di utenti che amano l’ambiente e gli animali. L’ultima iniziativa nota si chiama “Friend a Gorilla” ed è dedicata alla salvaguardia dei Gorilla. A portare avanti questa iniziativa sono i membri dell’Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Questa attenzione ai gorilla, proviene dal fatto che gli ultimi gorilla viventi, sono proprio in Uganda e che sono continuamente minacciati da caccia ed altre insidie umane.
A partire dalla connessione a servizi sociali on line come Twitter o come Facebook, tutti gli utenti potranno accedere al mondo dei gorilla, visionando immagini, video, o ancora leggendo notizie che riguardano i gorilla e soprattutto riuscendo a seguire via satellite la vita di questi animali che rischiano l’estinzione.

Questa iniziativa è stata avviata soprattutto per rendere partecipe di questa “disgrazia” chi non vive in Uganda e non riesce a rendersi conto della quotidianità del disagio di questi animali. L’idea nasce quindi per coinvolgere il mondo nella raccolta di fondi necessari alla salvaguardia della specie. La scelta di usare Internet, oltre per la larga portata dell’iniziativa è stata fatta perchè molti animalisti difficilmente possono spendere circa 600 dollari per andare a fare una escursione dal vivo. Fatto sta, che nella speranza di acquisire almeno un dollaro per ogni donazione, si spera di poter raccogliere almeno 100.000 dollari in tre mesi e 350.000 dollari in un anno, questo solo per permettere a queste specie di continuare a vivere tranquille.

Il gorilla quindi, in cerca di aiuto dal web per rimanere una specie vivente su questa terra.

Ancora una volta accade che gli spazi vitali di animali, ambiente ed esseri indifesi, chiede aiuto alle community sul web, quelle che sembrano avere una coscienza ambientalista molto maggiore rispetto a chi non si cura dei problemi della nostra terra.

  8. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
