La paura dell’utente medio, ad oggi è che il bigliettino elettronico di natale possa nascondere in se un virus, seppur innoquo, ma comunque fastidioso. Oltre a questo, si parla sempre più spesso di siti che offrono cartoline natalizie gratuite che nascondono in se piccole truffe, perchè necessitano di una “piccola donazione”. Come ogni anno già da circa un mesetto, ci ha pensato la McAfee a prendersi cura di stilare una lista dei pericoli natalizi.

La società Made in California, vuole infatti che proprio gli auguri natalizi siano i primi ad essere a rischio sul web. Al secondo posto, troviamo anche le truffe telematiche legate alle associazioni di beneficenza.

A rischio purtroppo, anche il mondo dei social network. Infatti, sembra che l’ultima moda in fatto di crimini informatici (che avrà un boom pazzesco per Natale), è proprio quella di inviare e-mail con richieste d’amicizia, che nel link contengono al posto di un redirect, un bel trojan oppure un worm pronto ad installarsi sul nostro computer.

Secondo McAfee, ha fatto esempio il worm della Hallmark celato nel bigliettino natalizio dello scorso anno. Gli auguri natalizi più diffusi, non saranno più comunque celati dietro agli SMS. Per il 2009, molti degli auguri di Natale saranno inviati direttamente on line tramite i social network. Le reti sociali, sono state definite come il mezzo più comodo e soprattutto economico per scambiarsi gli auguri di Natale. Probabilmente se la vedranno meno bene gli operatori di telefonia mobile, che hanno previsto un calo dell’invio degli SMS di auguri che supera il 50% rispetto ai dati dello scorso anno.
