I meravigliosi paesaggi di Second Life

La virtual life, raggruppa un insieme di caratteristiche che portano i fruitori di questa realtà a provare sensazioni particolari ed emozioni nuove nei confronti di ambienti inesistenti.
E’ il caso del popolare Second Life che con i suoi oltre 4 milioni di account creati, cerca ogni giorno di riprodurre una realtà anche nelle opere d’arte. Ma procediamo per gradi: Second Life è formata da Land (Isole) gratuite, di proprietà di qualcuno, oppure acquistabili secondo l’utilizzo che si intende farne.

Ogni isola può essere acquistata in proporzione a partire da 500 mq fino a 65.000 mq e la moneta d’acquisto sono i Linden Dollar (tasso di cambio Linden$-€uro 3000/10). Dopo aver effettuato l’acquisto di una land, è possibile generare modifiche anche geografiche con la possibilità di inserire montagna, mare, spiaggia (modalità di terraforming), creare costruzioni in 3D (edifici, piazze, ecc.) ed infine arredarle in modo realistico o futuristico. C’è la possibilità di visitare grotte, vascelli pirata, musei e soprattutto molte sono le opere della real life riprodotte in Second Life e dopo ne passeremo in rassegna qualcuna tra le più note italiane.


Il progetto italiano più noto nel mondo è quello di ItaliaVera, che ha l’ambizioso intento di voler costruire una penisola formata da 50 land che riproduce fedelmente le più grandi città italiane come Roma, Napoli, Firenze, Milano, ecc.

What if we are not moving forward but simply circling the same points, like the smoke from a burning fire, curling back onto itself, repeating patterns we fail to recognize? Maybe the past and future are just two sides of the same moment, and all we ever have is now.

If wisdom is the understanding of life, then should we not chase every experience we can, taste every flavor, walk every path, and embrace every feeling? Perhaps the greatest tragedy is to live cautiously, never fully opening oneself to the richness of being.

  31. Even the gods, if they exist, must laugh from time to time. Perhaps what we call tragedy is merely comedy from a higher perspective, a joke we are too caught up in to understand. Maybe the wisest among us are not the ones who take life the most seriously, but those who can laugh at its absurdity and find joy even in the darkest moments.
