Green PC: il software che parla “verde”

Anthony Rodio, il Vice Presidente Esecutivo della SupportSoft Inc. ha annunciato a seguito della realizzazione, il lancio di un nuovo “software ecologico” lanciato in esclusiva su Facebook, il social network più utilizzato dagli utenti di tutto il mondo.
Il software si chiama “Green PC” ed è una visione nuova ed ambientalista di vedere i programmi per computer, cioè l’analisi e la progettazione basata sul ridurre al minimo il consumo energetico dei personal computer, apportanto delle modifiche mirate a determinate impostazioni del pc stesso. Con questa soluzione è nata anche l’opportunità di utilizzo dell’Eco-Button, un’idea di pulsante che interrompe completamente l’attività elettrica del computer, togliendo corrente.
Con questo nuovo software sarà possibile in maniera semplificata, come le impostazioni di risparmio energetico di Windows, di modificare il tempo di inattività del monitor e del disco fisso, decidendo il loro spegnimento, oppure definire la quantità intesa in minuti dopo di che il PC può andare in modalità stand-by. Tutto questo, consigliando e basandosi sugli standard energetici indicati da Energy Star e Carbonfound.org. Quest’ultima, come organizzazione no profit che si batte contro lo spreco delle energie rinnovabili, ha portato a termine le prime valutazioni di consumo energetico ed ha stimato che se circa 100.000 computer istallassero Green PC e modificassero accuratamente le impostazioni energetiche del sistema, sarebbe possibile risparmiare, annualmente, un quantitativo di energia pari a circa 13.000 barili di petrolio.
Tutto ciò solo in Italia, perchè se riportassimo questi dati su una scala globale, sicuramente riusciremmo a considerare gli importantissimi riscontri sull’ambiente garantito da applicazioni di questo tipo.

Sempre più verde e sempre più dedicati all’ambiente gli sviluppi della tecnologia moderna, per la salvaguardia di una situazione difficile, ma soprattutto per la possibilità di ridurre i consumi di materie prime non rinnovabili, che stanno decidendo anche la situazione economica mondiale per la fluttuazione monetaria legata a queste materie. Sono consigliati quindi, tutti i software con il bollino verde, perchè dedicati a ridurre gli sprechi.
