Facebook batte Google: facciamo il punto della situazione sul “caso Gran Bretagna”

Come già anticipato qui, i social networks confermano di essere la vera innovazione del Web 2.0. in materia di popolarità. Tanto che il caso della Gran Bretagna merita un approfondimento. Il sorpasso di Facebook su Google è stato reso noto dalle indagini svolte da un gruppo di ricerca della Experian Hitwise. La società afferma perciò che i social network in Gran Bretagna hanno superato di gran lunga l’utilizzo dei motori di ricerca. Perciò diamo un’occhiata ai dati di traffico.

Nell’analisi del team inglese, sono stati compresi Facebook, Twitter e YouTube dal lato dei social network e Google, Yahoo! e Bing dal lato dei motori di ricerca. I primi nel solo Maggio 2010, in Inghilterra avrebbero fatto visite sul totale mondiale per un quantitativo pari all’11,9%, mentre i “poveri” motori di ricerca sono balzati all’11,3%.

I dati comunicati da Experian Hitwise, risalgono a statistiche rilevate a partire dagli ultimi 3 anni, ed è chiaro che il traffico dei social network è aumentato di ben il 5%; al contrario, i motori di ricerca nell’analisi di confronto per lo stesso periodo hanno visto scendere la propria popolarità del 13%.


La svolta sarà data ancora di più nel lungo periodo grazie ai nuovi investimenti che i social network stanno facendo in ambito pubblicitario, questo anche perchè gli imprenditori hanno constatato che questi ultimi riescono ad avere una efficacia prolungata rispetto ai classici spot nel search marketing.

Il social network risultato comunque vincitore anche in Gran Bretagna tra i tanti social media è Facebook con il 55% delle visite. Secondo arriva YouTube con un 18% sul totale.
