Google di nuovo in crash per un’ora…e gli utenti tremano

Ieri in tarda serata, BigG ha subito un nuovo crollo dei propri sistemi con una sospensione del servizio che è stato immediatamente diffuso nella blogosfera. Sia il motore di ricerca, che i servizi come gMail, Google Maps e gli altri hanno subito un rallentamento tale che dopo pochi istanti ha portato il blocco totale delle attività. Tutto il processo, dal rallentamento alla soluzione è durato cira un’ora, e la blogosfera tutta da Facebook a Twitter, ha riversato il panico per questa situazione.

Dal network di McAfee, il blocco è stato precisamente dalle 8.13 AM alle 9.14 AM (PDT) mentre per l’ora italiana tra le 17.43 e le 18.14. Per l’Italia, l’unico handicap è stato quello dei grossi rallentamenti nei servizi senza nessun crash out, chi invece ha dovuto vedersela con il crash sono stati gli USA che si sono trovati dirottati verso il motore asiatico prima di tornare alla propria versione originale. Il problema è stato successivamente certificato dalla Google Apps Status Dashboard (anch’essa bloccata durante il crash creando ulteriormente il panico), che sarebbe la bacheca ufficiale che viene utilizzata per notificare errori e segnalazioni relative al colosso di Mountain View.
Al ripristino delle attività, non sono mancate le speculazioni, soprattutto quelle che additavano Verizon ed AT&T come capo del problema. Alla fine però Google ha comunicato le spiegazioni ufficiali del “black out” come segue: “immagina di dover viaggiare da New York a San Francisco, ma il tuo aereo è dirottato verso un aereoporto in Asia. Ed una serie di altri aerei viene mandato nella stessa direzione”. Metefora ha di seguito dichiarato che: “Un errore in uno dei nostri sistemi ha causato l’invio di parte del traffico verso l’Asia…Come risultato, circa il 14% dei nostri utenti ha sperimentato rallentamenti nel servizio o addirittura interruzioni. Stiamo lavorando duro per rendere i nostri servizi ultraveloci e “always on”, perciò siamo particolarmente imbarazzati quando succedono certe cose”.
Queste esperienze però riescono a mettere in mostra una cosa (impressionante?) del mondo del Web 2.0: la dipendenza che ormai il mondo ha da Google.

I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
