Face.com: riconoscimento facciale su Facebook

Molto spesso ci capita di ricordare il volto di una persona ma accidentalmente ci scordiamo completamente del suo nome e cognome. A chi non è mai successo? Ciò capita anche nel campo dei social network, soprattutto su Facebook. Difatti, dopo le migliaia di pagine visitate, di profili visti e foto guardate è facile dimenticarsi di qualcuno. Come fare per rintracciarli? O ancora: come trovare qualcuno conoscendone solamente i tratti somatici facciali? Un utile servizio che ci permette di fare ciò, ed unico nel suo genere, si chiama face.com.

Abbiamo lavorato duro su Photo Finder, un potente strumento per trovare le foto di te e dei tuoi amici su Facebook. Questa applicazione è il più veloce, più potente e più accurato riconoscimento facciale al di fuori della criminalità fiction TV.

Come funziona? Dopo aver effettuato la registrazione a Face.com bisogna inserire una foto su Photo Finder. Una volta fatto questo il programma avvierà la procedura di riconoscimento facciale e successiva scansione di tutto il database di foto pubblicate su Facebook. Una volta trovato chi cercavate avrete finalmente il suo nome e cognome. Facile vero?

Il servizio è disponibile solamente da oggi. I test con la versione alpha alla quale hanno preso parte 150 persone hanno riscosso risultati positivi per questo ora è disponibile a qualsiasi utenza. Ma sarà davvero così infallibile? Questo non possiamo ancora dirlo. Piuttosto: ditecelo voi! Provate ad immettere la foto di un vostro caro amico e vedete se il servizio sarà in grado di riconoscerlo tra i terabyte di foto presenti sui server di Facebook. Sinceramente io dubito sia così preciso. Diteci la vostra, vogliamo sapere che ne pensate!

  16. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and
    gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
    She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
