Facebook:70% dei ricavi in più

Secondo le stime dello stesso CEO Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, i ricavi monetari del social network aumenteranno del 70% entro il 2010. Nello specifico, il sito dovrebbe fruttare più di 500 milioni di dollari. Ma quale sarà la reale cifra di guadagno? E’ su questo punto che una dei più importanti analisti del mondo dell’ecommerce riferito ai social media, Debra Aho Williamson ha voluto parlare nel sito NextStepsInMarketing. Secondo lei, la stima reale si dovrebbe aggirare solamente attorno ai 300 milioni e non 500 come affermato da Zuckerberg.

Ecco come ne parla:

La nostra stima per tutto il mondo degli annunci su Facebook nel 2009 è di $ 300 milioni di euro. Nello specifico $ 230 milioni negli Stati Uniti e $ 70 milioni fuori. Quindi, se si aggiunge alla nostra stima di $ 300 milioni altri $ 75 milioni di entrate per i doni virtuali, giungiamo a $ 375 milioni di euro.

Supponendo che Facebook lanci un sistema di pagamento, che potrebbe portare a diversi milioni di entrate in più (non ho alcuna particolare preferenza),Il risultato finale sarebbe comunque inferiore a $ 500 milioni di euro, e il motivo della differenza è che mentre io sono ottimista per Facebook, non sono fiduciosa come il social network per quanto riguarda la sua capacità di aumentare i propri profitti del 70% in un solo anno.

Con una previsione di incremento, della spesa per le pubblicità online sul sito del 4,5% per quest’anno (secondo le più recenti proiezioni e statistiche degli emarketer), aumentare addirittura del 70% le proprie entrate sarà una vera e propria sfida.

Il discorso dell’analista è più che valido e si basa sull’aumento di richiesta, da parte delle aziende, di avere pubblicità sul social network. Ma Facebook potrebbe anche comodamente aumentare il prezzo di tali pubblicità del 70%. O comunque, come si fa di solito, aumentare il prezzo di una pubblicità di una percentuale rispetto adesso fino a raggiungere il 70% in un intero anno.
