Facebook Zynga

Da poche ore a questa parte Zynga, il colosso del social gaming che con i suoi titoli ha saputo farsi conoscere ed apprezzare dagli utenti del social network in blu, non è più un’estensione di Facebook, così come sancito dalle modifiche contrattuali riportate all’interno del pacchetto di documenti presentato alla statunitense Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

I legami tra le due società vanno quindi ad allentati e d’ora in avanti Zynga verrà considerata alla stessa maniera di tutti gli altri sviluppatori esterni.

La società di sviluppo californiana, che a partire da questo momento avrà il permesso di distribuire giochi anche a piattaforme diverse da quella di Menlo Park, non dovrà più predisporre la visualizzazione di pubblicità per conto di Facebook.

Da notare che a maggio del 2010 Facebook e Zynga avevano ratificato un accordo di pace dopo alcune tensioni venutesi a creare conseguenzialmente all’utilizzo coatto dei Credit e, di conseguenza, sulle eccessive percentuali imposte dal social network in blu per ciascun pagamento tramite le varie piattaforme di gioco.

Con le nuove negoziazioni,invece, Zynga sarà libera di abbandonare l’uso della valuta impiegata sul social network per l’esecuzione delle varie ed eventuali transazioni da effettuare in ambito social game.

Così facendo, però, Zynga andrà a rinunciare alle inserzioni promozionali sul social network ovvero quei messaggi pubblicitari sotto forma di inviti ai vari profili per giocare con titoli quali, ad esempio, i celebri Farmville o Poker.

Se tale decisione potrà rivelarsi, nel tempo, positiva per entrambe le società coinvolte al momento non è possibile saperlo anche se la reazione degli investitori nei confronti di Zynga non è risultata esattamente positiva ed incoraggiante, almeno non a primo acchito.

Zynga, in ogni caso, ha fatto sapere che continuerà lo sviluppo di giochi per il social network anche se non gli sarà consentito pubblicizzare prodotti al di fuori della piattaforma.
