Facebook si trasforma in negozio

Da molto tempo i colossi Microsoft, Yahoo! e Google, stanno cercando di entrare nel mercato della pubblicità on line diventando i main sector, ma non sono mai riusciti a prendere il predominio l’uno sull’altro per arrivare alla vetta. C’è invece qualcun’altro che entrato quatto quatto nel mondo del Web 2.0, sta acquisendo una posizione dominante nel campo delle vendite on line: stiamo parlando di Facebook.

Se tutti gli altri hanno un proprio campo d’applicazione specifico, è ovvio che lo status di portale di vendita non sarebbe toccato a Facebook, bensì ad eBay. Microsoft, Google e Yahoo! che già sono in sfida costante per avere il primato (imbattibile ad oggi Google) sui motori di ricerca, cercano di trarre volume d’affari anche sulla vendita della pubblicità on line.

Facebook, che inizialmente sembrava non voler adottare questa linea di pensiero, si trova oggi a guadagnare con i suoi 250 milioni di utenti, un buon centinaia di migliaia di euro al giorno.
Il discorso però si sta evolvendo. Da semplice portale che mette in mostra banner pubblicitari, vediamo che pian piano, Facebook sta dando la possibilità agli utenti commerciali di fare qualcosa di più. Fino ad oggi società come 1-800-Flowers, grossista di piante e fiori americano, metteva a disposizione un carrello elettronico su Facebook, che andava poi a concludere la sua finalità nel proprio sito di e-commerce.

Ma qualcosa sta cambiando: man mano che altre aziende hanno “clonato” questa idea, Facebook ha deciso di avviare uno sviluppo di Apps, dedicata proprio al mondo del commercio elettronico, tale da permettere anche la conclusione della transazione direttamente sul proprio sito.

Ovviamente, non senza una percentuale sul ricavo. Facebook diventa quindi sempre più un prodotto commerciale che punta all’unicità: social network, motore di ricerca (anche se per adesso solo interno), gestore di applicazioni e tra poco sicuramente anche supermercato on line. Chissà se nascerà la possibilità, anche sui profili di vendere la “roba” vecchia…sarà il lancio di eFacebay? Noi nel frattempo continuiamo ad osservare i progressi.
