Facebook salva la vita ad un gruppo di delfini

Tra le tante notizie facenti riferimento al ben noto social network in blu quella relativa al salvataggio di un gruppo di deflini è senz’altro degna di nota.

La storia in questione , avvenuta alcuni giorni addietro, ha infatti come protagonisti Facebook e tre delfini spiaggiati ed in fin di vita.

Ad Oyster Bay, una località degli Stati Uniti facente parte della Contea di Nassau, un gruppo di delfini, successivamente all’arrivo dell’alta marea, era rimasto bloccato nel pantano e, di conseguenza, senza possibilità di salvarsi se non grazie all’aiuto di qualcuno.

Un residente non identificato della Columbia Britannica, la più occidentale delle provincie canadesi, assistendo alla scena decide però di contattare il Dipartimento della Pesca e degli Oceani nel tentativo, appunto, di fornire aiuto ai delfini intrappolati.

Temendo però che quanto fatto non fosse sufficiente decide quindi di servirsi di Facebook come strumento d’allerta pubblicando una richiesta d’aiuto visibile a tutti gli amici presenti sul rinomato social network.

Nonostante l’orario non definibile esattamente come “tardo” (ironia a parte l’ora segnalata corrisponde, all’incirca, alle 7.00 del mattino) i “soccorritori di Facebook” che sono accorsi sulla spiaggia sono stati ben 60, tutti muniti di secchi e teloni.

L’arrivo dei soccorritori volontari, unitamente a quello degli operatori del Dipartimento della Pesca e degli Oceani, ha quindi permesso di salvare la vita ai delfini spiaggiati.

Infatti, mentre gli operatori del Dipartimento della Pesca e degli Oceani provvedevano a bagnare i delfini in modo tale da mantenerne la temperatura corporea fresca e costante, i volontari hanno posto ciascuno degli animali sui teloni in modo tale da poterli riportare in acqua senza problemi.

Anche se trasportare i delfini non è certo un compito semplice (basti pensare che le femmine possono raggiungere un peso pari a 145 Kg ed i maschi, invece, 197 Kg circa) l’impresa, dopo non molto, è stata portata a termine con successo.

Alcuni dei soccorritori, inoltre, una volta riportati i delfini in acqua, hanno poi deciso di attendere sin quando questi non si fossero allontanati completamente dalla riva.
