Google ha pubblicato nelle scorse ore la Zeitgeist 2010, ovvero la classifica delle parole più cercate dell’anno. In questo caso prendiamo in esame la versione italiana della classifica, e con ben poca sorpresa vi annunciamo che Facebook è stata la parola più cercata dagli italiani nel corso dell’anno che sta per finire.

Al secondo posto troviamo YouTube, ma il traguardo raggiunto da Facebook è incredibile, se pensiamo che il social network di Mark Zuckerberg ha ottenuto lo stesso risultato anche nella classifica delle parole più cercate in Italia su Yahoo.

Ironia della sorte, Google si piazza al settimo posto della classifica, preceduto da parole come streaming, giochi e meteo. Facebook ha veramente conquistato l’Italia, un paese notoriamente poco ricettivo quando si parla di web e new media. Eppure il successo del social network più famoso del mondo non accenna a diminuire, in Italia così come nel resto del pianeta Terra.

Facebook continua a crescere, il suo valore è sempre più alto (l’ultima stima parla di un valore di 50 miliardi di dollari) e gli utenti sono sempre di più. Ufficialmente gli iscritti sono circa 500 milioni, il prossimo traguardo “ufficiale” è quello di raggiungere un miliardo di utenti, cifra semplicemente spaventosa, ma sicuramente alla portata di Zuck e soci.

Il social network blu ha schiacciato la concorrenza, ha ucciso MySpace, Facebook è ora la nuova potenza del web. Persino il CEO di Yahoo, Carol Bartz, ha dichiarato in una intervista di ritenere Facebook più pericoloso di Google, tanto che il sito di Zuckerberg viene considerato il concorrente numero uno, l’avversario principale da battere.

Resta da capire ora cosa succederà nei prossimi mesi, Facebook è indubbiamente in salute, ma di certo i suoi “rivali” non resteranno a guardare alla finestra. MySpace è ormai spacciato (la dirigenza di News Corp vorrebbe vendere la piattaforma), Twitter può ancora crescere, mentre Google lancerà nel 2011 il suo “Google Me“.
