Facebook lancia un unico sito web mobile per tutti i dispositivi portatili

Gli utenti che, ad oggi, si servono di Facebook agendo direttamente mediante cellulari, smartphone e dispositivi portatili sono ben 250 milioni, così come dichiarato nella giornata di ieri, andandosi dunque a configurare come una cifra esorbitante se si considera che, nella loro totalità, gli iscritti a quello che va a configurarsi come il social network per eccellenza sono circa 600 milioni.

Sulla base di questi dati e conseguenzialmente alla promessa di una maggiore attenzione nei confronti dello sviluppo delle piattaforme mobili attualmente disponibili, Facebook, nelle ultime ore, ha reso noto che, a partire da questo momento, provvederà quindi a rilasciare un importante aggiornamento per quanto concerne la piattaforma mobile andando ad unificare i siti web attualmente disponibili in un’unica interfaccia.

Il social network, infatti, al momento offre ai suoi utilizzatori due differenti siti web mobile di cui uno progettato per essere utilizzato esclusivamente con dispositivi portatili equipaggiati di touchscreen ed appartenenti alla fascia alta e l’altro, invece, dedicato agli smartphone di fascia medio-bassa dotati anch’essi di tecnologia touch.

La gestione di due differenti siti web destinati al mondo mobile, seppur vantaggiosa per certi aspetti, comporta un soffocamento della capacità di innovare le features disponibili costringendo l’azienda a mettere in atto un maggior impegno che, ovviamente, richiede anche tempistiche ben più lunghe.

Proprio per tale ragione Facebook offrirà dunque un unico servizio mobile e, a seconda del dispositivo utilizzato, l’utente potrà notare gli interessanti cambiamenti apportati all’interfaccia utente del social network (la nuova UI utilizza XHP, Javelin e WURFL) e godere di un’esperienza touchscreen completa di HTML5 e CSS3.

Questo sta a significare che coloro che sino ad ora non hanno avuto modo di testare le fattezze dell’interfaccia di Facebook mobile destinata alla fascia alta e qualora il dispositivo impiegato lo consenta, potranno visualizzare una nuova UI decisamente ben più invitante di quanto concesso in precedenza.
