Facebook app geolocalizzazione

Stando a quelle che sono le più recenti informazioni al momento disponibili Facebook sarebbe sul punto di rilasciare un’applicazione che permetterà la geolocalizzazione di tutti gli utenti iscritti al social network e, nello specifico, di coloro che sono soliti servirsene da smartphone e tablet.

Le indiscrezioni, provenienti da fonti rigorosamente anonime, suggeriscono infatti che Facebook sta per lanciare un’app grazie alla quale i possessori di dispositivi mobili potranno rilevare la presenza nelle vicinanze, in tempo reale, di amici e conoscenti oppure di persone che condividono gli stessi interessi.

Il lancio di un’applicazione di questo tipo potrebbe essere di fondamentale importanza per Mark Zuckerberg ed il suo gruppo poiché, in tal modo, riuscirebbe finalmente a trarre maggior guadagno dal settore mobile facendo leva sull’enorme numero di utenti iscritti al social network e sul sempre più vasto e fruttuoso mercato degli smartphone e dei tablet.

Le informazioni raccolte sulla posizione geografica degli iscritti potranno infatti essere utilizzate per esporre inserzioni pubblicitarie mirate e per proporre attività ed esercizi commerciali disponibili nei dintorni.

L’applicazione, ovviamente, permetterà anche di stringere ulteriori amicizie e di fare nuove conoscenze.

L’applicazione, che sempre attenendosi alle voci di corridoio dovrebbe essere resa disponibile durante il mese di marzo dell’anno corrente, potrebbe ereditare gran parte del funzionamento di Glancee, il progetto made in Italy acquisito da Facebook a maggio del 2012, estendendo ed ottimizzando le features di Find Friend Nearby.

Considerando il presunto funzionamento dell’applicazione è praticamente inevitabile che Mark Zuckerberg, qualora l’app venga effettivamente rilasciata, si ritrovi a dover discutere, animatamente o meno sarà possibile scoprirlo soltanto prossimamente, con associazioni di consumatori, con uffici e garanti della privacy e, ovviamente, anche con la FTC.

Da notare che le informazioni in questione non sono ancora state confermate ufficialmente da Facebook ragion per cui non è escluso che i dettagli possano poi rivelarsi inesatti.

  10. After I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I recieve four emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you can remove me from that service? Cheers!
