Facebook: la Casa Bianca ha il suo profilo

Obama continua la sua speciale campagna di promozione personale, inaugurando un nuovo profilo Facebook oltre al proprio personale: quello della Casa Bianca. Non soddisfatto dell’enorme successo già ottenuto grazie ai milioni di sostenitori presenti sulla propria pagina, ha voluto aggiungere anche la propria residenza e pensate, in una sola settimana, il numero di fan è salito da una soglia iniziale di 31.000 ad una quota di 172.000, ed è tutt’ora in crescita. Ma finirà anche questo tra i profili dimenticati del Presidente degli Stati Uniti? Perchè questa domanda? Semplice, tra un social network e l’altro si è dimenticato completamente del suo spazio su Twitter, spazio che non viene aggiornato con alcun Tweet da due mesi.

Aderendo alle più conosciute piattaforme sociali, Obama ha dimostrato di attenersi alla sua volontà di rafforzare la trasparenza del governo attraverso l’uso del web. Trasparenza che si è constatata nelle seguenti caratteristiche del sito governativo:

  • Un rinnovamento con cui sono stare rese disponibili delle scheda “questioni” che consentono ai cittadini di monitorare i progressi compiuti dal governo, in ogni questione importante riguardante il paese,
  • La presenza di un blog personale, realizzato dal suo staff,
  • La possibilità di abbonarsi via feed RSS per garantire che nessuno si possa perdere un pezzo importante dei vari contenuti,
  • Le persone possono segnalare un post preferito di Whitehouse.gov sul proprio profilo Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, ecc…,
  • La presenza della sezione recovery.org che permette ai cittadini di sapere come vengono detratte le tasse e in cosa esse vengono destinate. In questo caso potranno essere segnalati abusi nella spesa dei fondi pubblici.

Facebook permetterà una cosa che lo stesso sito governativo non ha permesso, ovvero la pubblicazione dei commenti e dei propri pensieri in modo istantaneo. Difatti su Whitehouse.org bisogna ogni volta utilizzare la funzione “contattaci” che non è per nulla veloce, ma anzi molto lenta e carente.
