Facebook, il disastro in borsa continua

Facebook tocca un nuovo minimo storico: 25,87 dollari. Il valore delle azioni del social network di Zuckerberg nei listini Nasdaq di Wall Street continua a crollare ogni giorno in più, allontanandosi ancora dalla quotazione iniziale e rischia di rendere vane le speranze di chi aspetta il cosiddetto “rimbalzo” che segni la ripresa.

Quello di Facebook in borsa è un disastro annunciato secondo tanti, che già prima del debutto avevano avvertito che la piattaforma sociale non avrebbe avuto la forza né l’appeal per impressionare davvero in borsa. Bolla finanziaria esplosa? È ancora troppo presto per lanciarsi in valutazioni così drastiche, ma è certo quella la direzione che sembra aver intrapreso il re dei social network.

Direzione di un percorso intricato, che eppure era iniziato sotto i migliori auspici. Prezzo di collocamento iniziale per azioni pari a 38 dollari, per una quotazione salita addirittura a 45 durante le prime ore di contrattazione. Poi, il disastro. Il crollo nello stesso giorno di debutto, le proteste e le denunce nei confronti di Zuckerberg e soci, le richieste di risarcimento e un rialzo mai giunto.

Intanto si pensa almeno a come far sorridere un po’ gli investitori più sfortunati: coloro che insomma hanno creduto subito nelle potenzialità in borsa del social network e che hanno pagato un prezzo troppo alto rispetto la quotazione iniziale, e soprattutto quella attuale, con una differenza pari addirittura a 20 dollari. Si progettano piani di risarcimento dal Nasdaq, per un’operazione quantificata in 13 milioni di dollari.

Per chiudere, il valore di capitalizzazione di Facebook è chiaramente crollato ed è lontanissimo dai 100 miliardi di dollari auspicati prima del debutto a Wall Street. Oggi si attesta infatti sui 55 miliardi di dollari, e ha portato persino il patrimonio personale di Mark Zuckerberg escluso dai top 40 dei “ricconi” al mondo. Toccherà a lui dare segnali di fiducia, far capire che Facebook in borsa non è un enorme e costoso buco nell’acqua.
