Facebook annuncia le dirette illimitate

Facebook crede profondamente nella propria piattaforma di live streaming e proprio per questo ha provveduto a rilasciare alcuni aggiornamenti per Facebook Live che vanno a migliorarne, e non poco, le potenzialità.

Tra le novità annunciate è sicuramente da segnalare la possibilità per i broadcaster di gestire dirette continue senza interruzioni.

Sino a questo momento Facebook aveva imposto un limite massimo di 90 minuti oltre i quali era necessario interrompere il filmato prima di riavviarne riproduzione e registrazione. Adesso le cose sono però cambiate andando ad aprire nuove prospettive, specie per quanto concerne l’ambito giornalistico e quello dell’intrattenimento. D’ora in poi le emittenti potranno dunque trasmettere interi eventi tramite Facebook come ad esempio competizioni sportive o conferenze, nonché spettacoli della natura o panorami.

Tale interessante novità presenta, però, una limitazione: questi video non potranno essere salvati al termine delle dirette. Il motivo alla base di tale scelta è tutto da ricercare nell’eccessivo peso che andrebbe a gravare sui server del social network senza contare poi le possibilità di coinvolgimento dell’utenza.

Da notare che unitamente alla novità in oggetto Facebook ha provveduto ad annunciare la possibilità di realizzare video visibili dagli utenti che si trovano in una precisa posizione geografica. Il team alle spalle del social network numero uno al mondo ha inoltre implementato un “engagement graphs”, vale a dire un grafico che mostra quali parti di un video hanno ottenuto il maggiore interesse da parte degli utenti. Tale opzione consentirà agli utenti di saltare direttamente alle parti del filmato che hanno attirato maggiormente l’attenzione.
