Negli ultimi tempi Facebook sta dando proprio un gran da farsi, sia per quanto concerne quelli che sono gli aggiornamenti interni al social network sia per quanto riguarda l’acquisto di eventuali startup.

Infatti, proprio a tal proposito, Facebook, alcune ore addietro, ha reso pubblica la notizia relativa alla sua ennesima acquisizione che, questa volta, pone come punto focale Beluga.

Si tratta, per l’appunto, di una nota azienda che offre interessanti opzioni sconfinanti nel campo della messaggistica istantanea e della condivisione di contenuti multimediali destinati, in particolar modo, ai possessori di un dispositivo mobile targato Apple ed a tutti i felici utilizzatori delle risorse portatili equipaggiate di Android, ma, ovviamente, anche a coloro che preferiscono operare in tranquillità direttamente dal proprio desktop.

Ora, secondo quanto dichiarato in un comunicato stampa, l’accordo stretto tra Facebook e Beluga prevede che l’azienda in questione, per il momento, prosegua nella sua consueta attività senza trascurare in alcun modo i propri utenti (account e relativi dati non andranno persi) ma, per il futuro, non vi sono ancora informazioni certe.

Questo sta dunque a significare che non risulta ancora chiaro se Beluga continuerà a sussistere come funzionalità separata da Facebook o come parte integrante della risorsa di social networking numero uno o, ancora, come tecnologia sulla quale basare un qualcosa di molto più grande che, allo stato attuale delle cose, viaggia ancora in incognito.

Frattanto, però, gli sviluppatori della startup si sono dichiarati entusiasti dell’acquisizione da parte di Facebook ma comunque sia orgogliosi di continuare a fare, ad oggi, il loro lavoro.
