Dopo Google Wave chiuderà anche Google Buzz?

Il nuovo pettegolezzo di internet stavolta riguarda Google Buzz. Molti esperti di social media sostengono infatti che Google, dopo la chiusura di Wave, sospenderà a tempo indeterminato anche il progetto Google Buzz. L’ipotesi non è priva di fondamento, e circola in Rete già dallo scorso marzo, ma in tempi recenti è stata rilanciata da numerosi guru del Web. Il motivo è presto detto: l’imminente arrivo dell’atteso Project Titan renderebbe superfluo un servizio come Buzz. Ma c’è di più.

Secondo gli esperti Google Buzz è un progetto nato morto. Il suo utilizzo ha cominciato a calare già nei primi 3 giorni successivi al lancio. In più, le numerose falle della privacy, sfociate poi in una class action contro Buzz che è costata a Google ben 8,5 milioni di dollari, hanno trasformato questo microblog in una perfetta macchina mangia soldi.

Ma lo smacco più grave per Google è che Buzz ha fallito in quello che era il suo obiettivo primario: sostituirsi a Twitter, Friendfeed e Facebook. Invece, mentre i social network concorrenti continuano a crescere, Buzz perde ogni giorno più utenti.

Questo spiega le voci di corridoio che vedono imminente la fine di Google Buzz. Insomma, la morte sembra oramai certa. Resta solo da fissare la data del funerale.
