A partire dal 1 gennaio 2021, la popolare applicazione di messaggistica WhatsApp smetterà di funzionare per milioni di smartphone in tutto il mondo. Il famoso gigante dei social media intende fare un importante aggiornamento che non consentirà ai telefoni più vecchi di utilizzarlo, secondo quanto riportato da KAN news dopo aver ricevuto la notizia dalla società.

Secondo i rapporti, l’applicazione smetterà di funzionare su iPhone che non sono aggiornati dopo iOS 9, in pratica iPhone fino alla versione 6s. Anche i telefoni Android che eseguono un sistema operativo 4.0.3 o inferiore non saranno in grado di utilizzare l’applicazione.

Non è la prima volta che WhatsApp viene aggiornato: nel 2016 è accaduto un evento simile. Ynet ha riferito a dicembre 2016 che anche le generazioni precedenti di iPhone e telefoni Android non funzionavano.
WhatsApp ha suggerito agli utenti di aggiornare i propri servizi operativi o di acquistare un telefono più recente per accedere all’app.

Ricapitolando, se disponete un iPhone o un telefono Android meno recente, potreste perdere del tutto l’accesso a WhatsApp o ad alcune funzionalità dell’app di messaggistica dal 1 gennaio 2021.
