Crescono i ricavi pubblicitari su YouTube: oltre centomila dollari l’anno per canale

Giovedi scorso durante il Keynote di YouTube a VidCon, Tom Picket ha annunciato che oggi ci sono migliaia di canali che guadagnano centomila dollari all’anno con la pubblicità di YouTube.

Picket, responsabile del settore contenuti, ha affermato che questa è la prima volta che si registra un tale incremento dei ricavi pubblicitari, e bisogna ammettere che le cifre dichiarate al keynote sono impressionanti.

In passato ben pochi avrebbero scommesso sulla pubblicità su YouTube, vista come poco efficace se paragonata all’impatto in altri networks, per esempio Facebook. Così se un canale YouTube voleva aspirare al traguardo dei 100.000 dollari doveva affidarsi non solo alla pubblicità, ma soprattutto alle sponsorizzazioni di grandi marchi e brand internazionali. Invece la notizia sorprendente è che oggi migliaia di canali sono in grado di guadagnare oltre 100.000 dollari l’anno solo grazie agli introiti pubblicitari di YouTube.

Ma col senno di poi queste cifre non ci stupiscono più di tanto. A maggio sono stati caricati su YouTube quasi 72 ore di video al minuto e il network potrebbe generare oltre 3,6 miliardi di dollari di fatturato entro la fine del 2012. Perciò avere un canale You Tube non è più da considerarsi solo un hobby, ma un ottimo investimento.
